Midfielder Barry Bannan of Sheffield Wednesday revealed which team, out of Leeds United, Leicester City, and Ipswich Town, he would most like to see promoted.
After Southampton’s setback to Cardiff City on Saturday, it now appears that a three-horse race will occur in the final two weeks of the season, despite their recent mini-resurgence.
There are currently just two points separating the top three: Leicester is at the top with 91, Leeds is in second place with 90, and Ipswich is just outside with 89. Nevertheless, compared to both, the Whites have played one more game.
All three teams have recently suffered a decline in performance; but, with Ipswich off the field, Leicester and Leeds were able to increase the pressure with spirited victories over Middlesbrough and West Brom, respectively.
Even though Leeds’ team was beleaguered by injuries in the days leading up to last night’s game, they managed to persevere and earn a decisive three points, which was evident from Liam Cooper’s joyous celebration from the sidelines.
