According to Jonny McFarlane, Rangers would need to spend £8 million to get Abdereen forward Bojan Miovski during the summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old striker has been linked to a move to Ibrox this summer. Former Dons manager Neil Warnock has said that he anticipates selling the striker at the end of the current campaign, mentioning Glasgow as a possible destination.
Although North Macedonian international McFarlane, a journalist for Rangers Review, thinks the player would be a great addition to Philippe Clement’s team, he acknowledges that it could be a very costly transaction to complete.
He made the following statement on the Rangers Review YouTube channel on April 23, 12:45: “I think he is a phenomenal talent.” I genuinely believe he would be an ideal addition to the Rangers and I truly, really like him.
“There’s no doubt in my mind that Aberdeen will demand extremely high compensation for this player. Depending on the level of interest, I wouldn’t be shocked if Aberdeen asked for £8 million in exchange for Miovksi.
“They can ask for £8 million, and if no one approaches them with that, of course, the price would drop. However, £8 million is not a lot of money for Championship clubs, so I wouldn’t be shocked if there wasn’t interest in that kind of area for him.
“I believe Celtic adore his appearance, but would they spend that much? He’s a very, very dangerous player, I’m not sure.
During the summer transfer window, will Bojan Miovski be signed by Rangers or Celtic?
The consensus among supporters is still that Clement has to sign a new number nine during the summer transfer window. Cyriel Dessers has shown flashes of brilliance, but he has not shown the consistency needed to succeed at Ibrox.
Another player who has been predicted to move to Glasgow this summer is Hearts forward Lawrence Shankland. Given their prior Premiership successes, both Shankland and Miovski would be surefire goals.
It remains to be seen if Clement and his hiring staff could afford the £8 million that Aberdeen will demand in the summer, although there will undoubtedly be some negotiation room on that amount, particularly if the Dons maintain their position near the bottom of the standings.
It is hoped that the Light Blues would do every effort to bring a new nine to Ibrox this summer. Dessers needs assistance in carrying the load at the top of the field, even though he doesn’t necessary need to be replaced.
