Connor Goldson, who watched Sunday’s semi-final from the bench, has acknowledged that he fears losing his spot at Rangers.
The center back is a mainstay in the middle of defense and vice captain at Ibrox, although some of his recent performances have drawn criticism from fans. Then, for the Hearts match at Hampden, he was benched, but manager Philippe Clement maintained it was so he could recuperate.
The Belgian intended to make such substitution for the previous match against Dundee, but it was postponed due to the illness of Leon Balogun, the replacement. Now, despite being a first pick throughout the majority of his Gers career, Goldson has stated he has never felt he could rest on his laurels or take his place in the starting lineup for granted.

“And a great deal of people don’t. So many people fall short. The magnitude of the club and its pressure are immense. Don’t leave your house when you draw a game. You drop a match? The world is ending. However, I never imagined that I would spend days and nights at this club during my career.”
