Ahead of Coventry City’s FA Cup semi-final matchup with Manchester United, Wembley has released an update.
The Sky Blues, who shocked Premier League Wolves 3-2 in the quarterfinals last weekend, will play the Red Devils in the tournament’s final four at Wembley next month. At Molineux, there were dramatic moments as Ellis Simms and Haji Wright both scored goals in injury time.
Amad Diallo’s game-winning goal in the final seconds helped United defeat Liverpool 4-3 in extra time at Old Trafford. Chelsea will play Manchester City, the winners from the previous year, in the other semifinal.
While Coventry has stated they have been allocated 34,000 tickets, the dates of the two semi-final ties are still to be published. “Anything can happen in the FA Cup,” is a phrase that football fans all throughout England are acquainted with, according to a statement released by Wembley about hospitality for the semi-finals. This has happened once more in the FA quarterfinals, as Championship team Coventry City defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers and Manchester United defeated rivals Liverpool with a goal in the 121st minute of extra time.
Chelsea also struck later in the game, scoring two goals after the ninety-minute mark to win victory over Leicester City, while Manchester City easily defeated Newcastle United.
