Justice for Zac Fisher as bomber forward is banned after contentious incident

Harrison Jones, the key forward, received a one-match punishment for making a risky tackle on North Melbourne’s Zac Fisher, therefore he will miss Essendon’s Dreamtime at the ‘G match this Saturday night against Richmond.

A late swinging dump and Fisher’s head appearing to make contact with the ground caused Jones to follow Fisher down with a run-down tackle during the second quarter of Essendon’s 40-point victory.

A one-match punishment followed the action’s classification as careless conduct with medium impact and high contact.

Jones sanctioned for rough conduct

Unfortunately, unless Essendon decides to contest the decision, which they probably will, he will miss Dreamtime at the ‘G versus the Tigers, one of the premier events on the AFL schedule.

Paul Curtis, a forward for North Melbourne, was also given a red card for tripping Ben Hobbs of Essendon during the third quarter of that game.

If Curtis enters an early plea, he will be fined $1250; if he loses his appeal, he would be fined $1875.

Four charges were put down in the thrilling Adelaide Oval match between Port Adelaide and Hawthorn, two of which were at the hands of Brownlow contender Zach Butters.

Butters got a $3125 fine for fighting during the first quarter, but he’ll probably get away with it if he enters an early plea for $1875.

Additionally, he received a $10,000 fine for aggressive behavior against Hawthorn Ruckman Lloyd Meek in the third quarter. The MRO determined that the incident was intentional and had little bodily harm. $6250 in fines will be imposed for an early plea.

Livewire from HawthornDue to his involvement in the same first-quarter brawl, Jack Ginnivan was fined, most likely $1250.

The last player charged was Willem Drew. The Power midfielder entered an early $2500 plea for rough behavior that was judged to be thoughtless, low effect, and high on Jai Newcombe of Hawthorn.
