Following the international break, Sunderland is getting ready for their Championship encounter against Cardiff, albeit both teams are questionable due to injuries.
The Black Cats have lost their previous seven games after being held to a goalless draw by QPR. With eight league games left this season, interim manager Mike Dodds will be hoping that some of his injured players are able to return after the break.
Before their match at the Cardiff City Stadium, below is the most recent injury and squad news involving Sunderland and Cardiff:
![Roberts has missed Sunderland's last six matches with a hamstring injury and is unlikely to feature against Cardiff. While the Black Cats haven't completely given up hope the winger could return over the Easter weekend, next month's home match against Bristol City is probably a more realistic return date.](https://www.sunderlandecho.com/webimg/b25lY21zOjYyM2Y3NDFjLTJiZWMtNGExYy1hZjcxLTdkNGZlOGJmYjc4Njo5MTNkMjlmMS0wMmZmLTQ5OTctOGE2Ni05M2VkMmEyNjZlZmQ=.jpg?crop=3:2&width=640)
1. Underland’s Patrick Roberts – DOUBT
Due to a hamstring injury, Roberts has missed Sunderland’s last six games and is not expected to play against Cardiff. Although the Black Cats are still holding out hope that the winger will make a comeback over the Easter weekend, it is perhaps more realistic to expect him back for next month’s home game against Bristol City.Pictured by Frank Reid
