The Football Association has charged Liam Scully, the chief executive of Lincoln City, for misconduct.

It comes following last Saturday’s 5-0 victory over Bristol Rovers by the Imps, which resulted in an altercation in the Sincil Bank tunnel.

It is claimed that Scully’s “language and/or behaviour towards a match official around the tunnel area after full-time was improper and threatening” .

Scully, who also serves as the EFL Trust chair, has until Monday, March 25 to address the accusation.

Lincoln had already pulled to within two points of the League One play-off spots when defender Ethan Erhahon was sent off for a second yellow card. However, Lincoln still had a four goal lead at that time.

They play Leyton Orient, who are ranked tenth, at home on Friday, March 29.
