Mamelodi Sundowns take decision on injury prone star
Mamelodi Sundowns have opted to extend the contract of one of their first team players despite his ongoing injury concerns.

Mamelodi Sundowns have reportedly extended the contract of Rivaldo Coetzee.
The 27-year-old utility midfielder joined the club in 2017 from Ajax Cape Town following a failed moved to Scottish giants Celtic due to medical reasons.
The former Ajax Cape Town star’s contract was due to come to a close at the end of the season.
Coetzee has made 125 appearances for Mamelodi Sundowns and now, reports suggest he’ll be around next season to add to that!

“There were rumors that he might leave Sundowns when his contract expires in the end of June but iDiski Times understands that Sundowns have triggered the option in the contract of Coetzee, which will see the midfield maestro staying at Mamelodi Sundowns until at least June 2025,” – the publication reported.
In other news, Mamelodi Sundowns have reportedly opened talks with a star Angolan attacker.
Petro De Luanda star Miguel Gilberto could soon find himself in the South African top-flight. That’s if Mamelodi Sundowns get their way!
The 23-year-old is one of the hottest properties in Angolan football. He already has 13 national team appearances to his name, four of which coming at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
The speedy winger is also attracting interest from Europe however inside sources claim Mamelodi Sundowns are ready to break the bank for their target.
DOWNS TO FIGHT FOR GILBERTO’S SIGNATURE – REPORT
“It’s not a strange thing. The scouts have been following his progress for some time now whether playing against him or at Afcon in Ivory Coast,” a source told Soccer Laduma.
“Now, it is all up to talks between the two clubs which will put a clear path forward for the move to happen. But as for Mamelodi Sundowns they are really interested in the player.”
The source further went on to claim that Sundowns are willing to engage in a bidding war with an un-named Belgian side over Gilberto’s services.”
