Sunderland Focus In On 41-year-old Boss | OneFootball

Sunderland are focusing on QPR boss Marti Cifuentes, but substantial compensation will be required to secure his services, according to journalist Alan Nixon. Cifuentes, who took over at QPR in October last year, has received praise for his work at Loftus Road, helping to keep the R’s in the division.

Sunderland’s managerial search has extended beyond 100 days, with former Hull City boss Liam Rosenior recently withdrawing from a second interview for the position. The Black Cats are now keen on Cifuentes, impressed by his achievements and hoping he can bring stability and success to the club. However, it remains to be seen if Sunderland will commit to the compensation needed to acquire him.

Spaniard Marti Cifuentes has been on Sunderland’s radar, although there are uncertainties about whether the club will pay the compensation required to secure him from QPR. Currently, it is suggested that Cifuentes is the preferred candidate for Sunderland. The Black Cats have been impressed by the 41-year-old’s performance in the Championship with QPR.

Cifuentes gained recognition through his successful stints in Scandinavian football, including Norwegian club Sandefjord, Danish club AaB, and Swedish side Hammarby. However, it remains uncertain if Sunderland will be willing to invest in the compensation necessary to bring Cifuentes to the northeast.
