Kaizer Chiefs are set to appoint Nasreddine Nabi as their coach, and he could be ready to make player decisions.

Nabi is expected to be announced as the Chiefs coach at the end of the month, starting in July.

It is thought that, his first assignment as Chiefs coach will be against his former side Yanga SC. Nabi spent three seasons at the Tanzanian giants winning a double treble in the process. When his former employer’s come to the party, he may have a new roster of players at his disposal.

DECISIONS TO BE MADE ON EXITS

It’s expected Chiefs, together with Nabi will run the rule over a few players who will see their deals expire. The likes of Keagan Dolly, Njabulo NgcoboSiyethemba SithebeEdmilson DoveGeorge MatlouSifiso Hlanti and Itumeleng Khune could leave. But it is believed that it is not only the players out of contract at risk of leaving the club. While players such as Mduduzi Mdantsane and Tebogo Potsane are also thought to be at a crossroads at Naturena. One other player that was mentioned in the same breath earlier last season is defender Zitha Kwinika.

Should that group make way, Chiefs have been linked with a plethora of players both locally and internationally. One of the local players that they were linked with earlier this week is Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Gaston Sirino.

According to Soccer-Laduma, Sirino is desperate to leave Sundowns, while Chiefs continue to monitor.

CHIEFS TARGET SIRINO UNHAPPY AT SUNDOWNS

“A Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder is pushing for an exit from the club ahead of the new season, KickOff has been reliably informed. It appeared as if Gaston Sirino and Sundowns had kissed and made up after head coach Rulani Mokwena started to feature the Uruguayan again, particularly from the start of the African Football League in October last year. Word reaching this website, from a well-placed source, is that Sirino wants to leave the club but that there are currently internal politics that are preventing him from doing so, either by termination of contract or being bought by another club. Word going around in the corridors is that the Uruguayan angered the club’s hierarchy in 2020 after leaning towards moving with former Downs coach Pitso Mosimane to Al Ahly.” Wrote the publication.
