Heading into the new campaign, Sunderland is facing the challenge of working with the same squad that disappointed last season, now without Mason Burstow, who has returned to Chelsea.

Although Sunderland isn’t anticipated to make major signings until a new manager is appointed, there is mounting pressure to address the vacancy upfront sooner rather than later.

The Black Cats could receive a boost if they decide to reignite their interest in one of their previous targets.

Musa Drammeh is ‘free to sign for another club’

According to solofichajes123, Sevilla has not extended a new contract offer to Musa Drammeh, allowing the 22-year-old Gambian striker to leave the club as a free agent. Drammeh, who has excelled with Sevilla’s reserve team this season, tallying 10 goals and 3 assists, primarily operated as a right winger.

Despite interest from Sunderland and other clubs in January, Drammeh is now poised to depart Sevilla without a transfer fee. His availability on a free transfer could potentially interest Sunderland as they consider their options moving forward.

Do Sunderland need the Sevilla reserve star?

Sunderland need new attackers all along their frontline and Drammeh may well be an exciting player, but his lack of senior football is an issue that the club have already had troubles with elsewhere.

Players such as Jewison Bennette, Abdoullah Ba, Luis Hemir, and Eliezer Mayenda have all faced consequences for similar issues this season, leading to questions about why Sunderland would consider repeating the same mistake.

The only correct approach would be to bring him in and then sell or loan out the other players. However, it remains a substantial risk to assume that Drammeh wouldn’t require a significant amount of time to settle in, like the others.

The club will undoubtedly consider the deal, but it’s certainly not one they are obligated to pursue.
