Olly Sanderson, a recent Bradford City addition, made a startling declaration when he promised to “cause mayhem.”
Tuesday night at Blundell Park, Bantams supporters got their first look at their newest loan addition, Fulham frontman Graham Alexander, who has already left a good impression.
Sanderson declared confidently that he would join City for the 2024–25 season, stating, “I am an aggressive striker.” I enjoy coming at them from behind, wreaking havoc, and eventually scoring goals.
“I am truly delighted to be in this place, and I am eager to continue and work towards getting promoted.”
Alexander shared his thoughts on his seventh summer signing, saying, “I told him straight up that he would have to fight for his spot because there was competition for his signature.
“We’re happy to have him in, and he still accepted that task. We got to watch him train with the boys for the first time on Monday, and he appears quite skilled.
“He is a young player who is hungry and wants to compete and have a successful career. He is highly rated at Fulham and possesses energy, enthusiasm, an eye for goal, and an end product.”
According to Alexander, it was also somewhat of a statement that City, with one of the biggest squads in the division, still had the resources to sign Sanderson.
“In my opinion, we still need to improve in that (forward) area, even though it is a part of a squad that is strong in numbers,” the City manager continued.
“I’m happy the club was able to proceed with the transaction without needing to exchange anything.
The fact that we are not in a situation where we must get people out in order to bring people in makes it really significant.
