EXCLUSIVE! Rangers Board Slammed: Ibrox Legend Charlie Miller Accuses Club of ‘Diabolical’ Mismanagement and Treating Fans Like Dirt

Rangers legend Charlie Miller has blasted the club’s board, accusing them of “diabolical” mismanagement and treating fans like dirt. His frustration has grown following Rangers’ £40 million Champions League exit at the hands of Dynamo Kyiv, a result that marks another costly mistake under chairman John Bennett and his directors.

Miller, a key figure during Rangers’ nine-in-a-row era, is still reeling from how far the club has fallen just a few seasons after winning an unbeaten Premiership title and reaching the Europa League final, achievements that brought substantial financial gains. The sales of Nathan Patterson, Joe Aribo, and Calvin Bassey added to the club’s coffers, yet Miller is perplexed by the lack of reinvestment in the team. He questions where the millions earned from those successes have gone, particularly as Rangers now struggle with a squad that is weaker than last season’s.

Miller’s concerns extend beyond the pitch, highlighting a series of off-field issues, including costly legal battles, poor transfer decisions, and the expensive construction mishaps at Ibrox, which have forced the team to play at Hampden. He believes the club missed a crucial opportunity to build on their league win under Steven Gerrard and has been stagnant ever since.

Despite his criticisms, Miller still supports manager Philippe Clement, who he believes has the potential to turn things around if given the resources. However, he is disappointed that the board has not provided the necessary backing, leaving fans to bear the brunt of the club’s mismanagement. Miller sympathizes with the supporters, who continue to invest in the club but are being let down by a team that, despite their hard work, isn’t good enough.

Miller also expressed concerns about recent signings and the lack of immediate impact players, questioning the decision to spend money on future prospects rather than addressing the current needs of the team. He suggests that players who are not fully committed to the club, like Todd Cantwell and Ianis Hagi, should be moved on to allow the team to focus on those who want to be part of its future.

Finally, Miller criticized the VAR system for its inability to overturn controversial yellow cards, a flaw that was exposed during Jefte’s controversial sending-off against Dynamo Kyiv, which left Rangers down to 10 men. He believes this incident highlights the weaknesses in the current VAR rules.
