Production for the second season of Netflix’s hit series The Sandman is still ongoing with about most of the season done as far as we know. Today, we have another casting update as well as an upcoming filming location.
Three new cast members of The Sandman Season 2
First up, we have uncovered three more new cast members who join The Sandman Season 2. First is Spike White (Masters of the Air) who will play Dick Cowley. That name indicates that we’ll see him in the episode called “More Devils than The Cast Hell Can Hold”, the adaptation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. In it, Dick Cowley was an actor who was performing in one of William Shakespeare’s plays.
Next up is Ben Allen (Doctors, World on Fire), who will play a character named Simon. Finally, we have Greek actress Emmanuela Lia (Brides, Sins of Solitude), who will play Naya. Given that she’s Greek and the character name Naya, we can assume she will be involved in “The Song of Orpheus” episodes of The Sandman Season 2.
Blue flowers and a pink cherry tree
Thanks to our reader, we have learned that filming for The Sandman Season 2 is currently being prepped in Frensham, England. The crew have set up an area with artificial blue flowers and a pink cherry tree.
The cherry three is almost certainly meant to be the cherry tree at the Naxos, under which Johanna Constantine (Jenna Coleman) is buried.
Filming there has not yet begun and is expected to take place from June 18 to 21. We’ll keep watch for more updates soon.
