SAD NEWS:Taiwo Awoniyi of Nottingham speaks out after suffering an injury setback.

Striker Taiwo Awoniyi of the Super Eagles has made his first social media post since it was reported that he was hurt on March 16, according to Soccernet.ng.

With his move from Union Berlin to Nottingham last season, Awoniyi has shown himself to be a prolific goalscorer for the team. Out of 44 games, he has 16 goals and 4 assists for the Tricky Trees.

But his fitness has been his main issue. With injuries, Awoniyi has had a difficult time since joining Nottingham. The 26-year-old striker has missed 27 Nottingham Forest games thus far. He had to have surgery even in the middle of the season, and he didn’t return until late January.

The Nigerian international played nine games before being hurt right before the international break. Nottingham Forest has not yet disclosed how long the player would be out. There are worries that he might be out for a few weeks, though.

He uploaded an image with this caption:

Nobody can undo what the Lord has done!

Human problems cannot stop my God from doing his mission.

The Rock is helping us.

Where He guides us toward wealth

Glory that is plainly visible to all

Our share will be goodness.

Awoniyi has been publicly thanking God for his grace ever since he soared to fame, and this recent post is just one of many.
Awoniyi saved his best for last season, helping Nottingham Forest escape relegation with six goals in the final four games. With nine games remaining in the season, coach Nuno Espirito Santo is hoping that Awoniyi can recuperate in time. The team is in a similar scenario this year.
