Sunderland have had a quiet summer transfer window, leading many fans to worry about a potentially rocky start to the season. Chelsea and Southampton are also interested in Krapyvtsov. While another goalkeeper isn’t a top priority, Sunderland must rate him highly. Le Bris’ team has made a strong start in the Championship, winning two of their first two games, matching their final 15-game total from last season.
Sunderland are yet to concede a goal and appear much more cohesive than last season. While it’s too early to judge if they can sustain this form over a full 46-game season, especially with limited depth and some injury-prone players, they look promising. Their game plan and identity have been evident in their first two matches, and their dominant win over Sheffield Wednesday last Sunday certainly made a statement to the league.
