Comedian Miranda Hart has opened up about her weight gain and being forced into ‘stillness from illness’ on Instagram.

Comedian and actress Miranda Hart revealed further details about her health battle that has kept her out of the spotlight for the past ten years, saying that she felt “shame” after gaining weight during the past three years.

The 51-year-old went on to talk about being “forced into stillness from illness,” but she did not specify the specific medical condition she has been dealing with.

In order to promote her forthcoming memoir, “I Haven’t Been Entirely Honest With You,” which is slated for release later this year, the former Call the Midwife star opened out to her 1.1 million Instagram followers about her issues with her appearance in a video she shared earlier this month.

“I have found it incredibly hard not to feel shame from gaining weight over the last three years,” the post’s description read. It doesn’t represent me and who I am at my core, not because I’m trying to achieve an aesthetic ideal. However, life happens. Diseases do occur.

Additionally, it’s a fantastic method to stay focused on self-compassion, which is the best healer. I know I am loved whether or not I lose it. Goodbye, and peace.”

The celebrity was shown in the video sporting a white T-shirt with the word “Proud” spelt out across the front.

She joked that she had “lost all of the midlife weight that was lumped on” while holding up her book in the video. “I haven’t,” she said in a whisper, pointing to the book’s title.

She continued: “But can I just say I’m actually really quite proud of the fact that I’ve dismantled quite a lot of shame about my weight gain, not that because I don’t think bigger is beautiful, but because it isn’t quite me and I feel really uncomfortable and it’s one of the things I talk about in there.”

The comedian first gained notoriety in 2009 with her self-titled comic series. From 2012 to 2015, she played Chummy in the wildly successful BBC drama “Call the Midwife.” But she didn’t show up for the sixth series in 2017, and at the time, there were rumours that she was having health issues. She left the spotlight and hasn’t had any significant jobs since, but she’s returned and is eager to share in a new memoir with her followers what transpired.

Hart hasn’t had a significant TV role in the last nine years, but she has been posting updates about her daily life on her Instagram profile, @realmirandahart. She alluded to a possible health concern in April when she posted a picture of herself wearing waring joggers and slipper boots with the message, “The only clothes I now fit into in my wardrobe,” with the hashtag, #menopause.

Fans responded to Hart’s most recent post with a flood of supportive messages. One person commented, “No matter what I do, the last three years have been a nightmare for weight gain. I’m in my 40s.” I appreciate your honesty here. Although “Call the Midwife” isn’t your most well-known role, it’s where I first saw you, and I adored it. I adore you here because you’re so genuine and understandable! Continue as you are!”

“People can be terribly judgemental and weight gain is horribly misunderstood,” remarked the second. A great way to start is by learning to accept who you are. eager to start reading the book!

“You’re beautiful inside and out!” exclaimed the third person. There are moments when we are merely passengers on a wild voyage through life. Continue sharing your goodness and brightness, and strive to be the best version of yourself. Treat yourself with kindness. You matter and you are loved. “What illness have you got, please?” a fan enquired. But Hart remained silent.
