As the Championship season progresses into its third week, clubs are racing against the clock to finalize their transfers before the window closes in just over a week. While many teams are still working on their deals, Millwall is actively seeking new signings, and QPR has already made several additions to their squad.

With the need to solidify their rosters before the new round of matches, teams are intensifying their transfer activities. Here’s the latest roundup of news and transfer rumors involving Championship clubs as they prepare for week three of the season.

Harris on new signings

Millwall manager Neil Harris has assured fans that the club will make new signings before the summer transfer window closes.

In an interview with South London Press, Harris explained the evolving nature of football recruitment. “There are many layers to it today, and while my primary role is head coach, I also need to help fans understand the current recruitment processes,” he said.

He expressed confidence that additions to the squad are imminent, stating, “It’s not a question of if we will add to the group but when. We need players, and I believe we will make those signings. The sooner, the better, as I’ve been emphasizing since May 5. With only nine days left in the window, it’s crucial we bring in experienced players by August 30 to avoid a challenging period for the team.”

Details of QPR deal emerge

The fee for QPR’s anticipated signing of Nicolas Madsen from Westerlo has been revealed, and it’s notably substantial. According to Sacha Tavolieri, QPR is set to pay nearly £3.12 million for the 24-year-old midfielder.

The deal also includes a percentage of any future sale, and Madsen’s contract will last for five years. Although a few details remain to be finalized, QPR is reported to have outpaced several other clubs to secure the signing.

Hannibal ‘talks’

Leeds United is reportedly pursuing a deal to sign Hannibal Mejbri as they look to strengthen their squad after several key departures this summer. According to the Daily Mail, Leeds is interested in adding Mejbri to their midfield, though it’s unclear if the move will be a loan or permanent transfer.

The midfielder is valued at approximately £7 million, and Manchester United is reportedly seeking to include a mandatory purchase option in any loan arrangement. Mejbri, 21, made six league appearances for Sevilla after joining on loan for the latter half of last season and has accumulated 27 senior caps for Tunisia.
