Derby County look set to complete some last-minute deals on transfer deadline day.
Derby County have already signed 10 new players this summer.
But going into deadline day, Paul Warne had three players on his radar, with the Rams keen to make some late improvements to their first-team squad.
It comes after a fairly difficult start to the 2024/25 Championship season for Derby County who’ve lost two and won one in the league so far.
Here we look at what’s happening at Pride Park on deadline day…
Who’s been linked with Derby County on deadline day
Going into the final day of the summer transfer window, Derby County were linked with Tom Cannon at Leicester City.
It was a fairly ambitious link at first, and it never really looked like a plausible one for Warne and his side.
And on deadline day, there’s been more talk about Cannon, though he’s now set to undergo a medical with Stoke City ahead of a loan move with the Potters.
Elsewhere, Warne looks eager to add another centre-back to his ranks, and could even scour the free agent market after the summer window loses.
Free agent Liam Cooper has been linked with Derby County following his Leeds United release earlier this summer.
Meanwhile, Leicester City’s Ben Nelson has also been linked with the Rams, though reports claim that he may be heading to Oxford United on loan.
Who’s set to join Derby County on deadline day
The Rams do appear to have one deal in place on deadline day, with Liverpool centre-back Nat Phillips set to join Derby County on loan.
The news was revealed earlier on Friday and it comes out of the blue.
Phillips, 27, is once again out of favour at Liverpool, but he’ll bring a wealth of experience to Derby County, having spent time on loan with both Celtic and Cardiff City last season.
Derby County return to Championship action on Saturday at home to Bristol City, with kick off at 3pm.
