Southampton’s hopes of signing Toulouse star Zakaria Aboukhlal have hit a roadblock, with the club unlikely to finalize the deal before today’s 11pm deadline, according to Toulouse website Les Violets.
The 24-year-old winger was expected to move to the south coast of England after promising negotiations with both the player and the club. However, as the transfer window nears its close, those talks have stalled.
Aboukhlal, who was sidelined by injury for much of last season and started only nine games, currently holds a market value of around £9 million.

As Southampton aim to strengthen their attacking options to ensure Premier League survival, Zakaria Aboukhlal emerged as a key target in the final days of the transfer window.
According to Santi Aouna, Russell Martin’s side entered negotiations for Aboukhlal, but with the deadline looming, talks have stalled, as the two clubs have struggled to agree on a transfer fee.
If a deal cannot be finalized, Southampton will have to rely on players like Ben Brereton and promising youngster Tyler Dibling to reinforce their wings this season.

The goalkeeper has joined from Arsenal
Southampton have successfully bolstered their squad by signing goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale from Arsenal in a notable deal.
The 26-year-old had recently fallen to the second-choice spot at the Emirates, behind David Raya, and made only six Premier League appearances last season. He also struggled to displace Jordan Pickford as England’s starting goalkeeper during Euro 2024.
Ramsdale, formerly of Bournemouth, has signed a four-year contract with Southampton after completing the move for an initial fee of £18 million.
