Southampton handed VAR appointment for Man Utd clash

In order for Southampton to score the team’s first points of the season, Russell Martin will be hoping that his players can make the most of their time spent on the training pitch over the international break.

Erik ten Hag’s team, who has only defeated Fulham this season, has lost its past two games and has an opportunity to do it at home against Manchester United in 2024–25.

Martin is hoping that there won’t be any refereeing disputes that hinder Southampton’s chances of winning, as the Premier League has finally confirmed the officials for every match this coming weekend.

Stuart Attwell referee appointed for Southampton vs Man Utd

After the international break, Premier League action returns to St Mary’s on Saturday with an early kickoff against United starring Stuart Attwell.

Gavin Ward is the fourth official, and Constantine Hatzidakis and Nick Hopton will support him.

VAR made a comeback along with Southampton’s Premier League return, which may or may not be good news depending on your position.

Chris Kavanagh will oversee VAR on Saturday, assisted by Lee Betts, before the two assume the more prominent duties of referee and linesman in Wolves’ match against Newcastle United on Sunday.
