The new Nottingham Forest museum will open at the City Ground this weekend.
The museum will open on Saturday, March 30, in tandem with the team’s return to action following the international break. The club is currently “putting the finishing touches” on the project.Located in Trent End of the stadium, it will also be utilized for efforts related to the “vision for enhanced fan engagement initiatives” of owner Evangelos Marinakis.
The museum will be filled with unique artifacts and serve as a showcase for Forest’s extensive past. Exhibits of note will comprise of the play-off final trophy, match-used shirts from Forest luminaries, and the iconic green jumper worn by Reds great Brian Clough.
In addition, the team is starting a brand-new stadium tour experience that ends with a museum visit. As part of the behind-the-scenes tour, fans will also get to visit the press conference room, the players’ dressing rooms, and the Reds’ two European Cups in the boardroom.
Forest intends to present a unique program of events at the museum. Talks with club icons, themed celebrations of important Reds dates, and Q&A sessions with head coach Nuno Espirito Santo and his players are all on the schedule.
On match days, a brand-new retail location near the museum’s entrance will be open. Additionally, Forest sees the museum as a venue that may be utilized for a range of charitable and community events, including meetings and gatherings.
The club states: “The introduction of an educational program for Nottinghamshire schools, youth clubs, and community groups to learn more about the history, present, and future of our famous club will be a key element of owner Evangelos Marinakis’ vision for these new projects.” The informative excursions, which complement the school curriculum and combine football history with insightful commentary, will provide kids an enlightening experience.
On Saturday, Nuno’s team plays Crystal Palace at the City Ground. They were docked four points for breaking financial regulations, which caused them to plummet into the bottom three heading into the game.
