And maybe two of the biggest are the US Open, which has been hosted on hard courts since 1978, and the Australian Open, which has been held on the surface since 1988.

Here, we examine the seven female players who have won the most major singles titles on hard courts.

Osaka is one of the best hard-court players of her generation, and she has won four Slam titles.

The former world No. 1 won her first major in 2018 at the US Open and followed it up with an Australian Open victory in 2019.

Two years later, Osaka repeated the feat, winning twice, first at Flushing Meadows in 2020 and then down under in 2021.
