Derby County injury boost ahead of Sheffield United clash

Derby County manager Paul Warne.

Liam Thompson, David Ozoh, and Tom Barkhuizen are all out for Derby County’s trip to Sheffield United this weekend, while Kane Wilson is available and fit.

Wilson had a hamstring injury during the victory over Middlesbrough last month, but he is back in training this week and is vying for a spot in the starting lineup.

Derby center-backIn his comeback from a preseason-related knee injury, Jake Rooney is also healing well. However, Barkhuizen and Thompson are both out; the former isn’t anticipated to return until after the international break.

“I don’t think Tommo will return before the international break, so he will be out. Naturally, there’s a little shortage in the middle of the park, and Tom Barkhuizen has a grade one injury,” Paul Warne remarked.

It could take ten days, two weeks, or worse because of the inconvenient location. Kane Wilson is good; he’s experienced. Joe Ward is skilled. Taylor, Corey Blackett, is trained. It’s fantastic to see Jake Rooney back on the turf. Having him back in the group would be good.”
