Watford are hoping to snap up Envigado starlet Santiago Londono, according to journalist Alan Nixon on his Patreon page.

Londono, 16, is being tipped for a bright future in the game and his current club could face a battle to keep hold of him amid attention from Europe. He is a Colombia youth international who has most recently represented his country at Under-17 level.

In this latest update regarding his situation, journalist Alan Nixon has claimed on his Patreon that the Hornets are keen to sign him for a fee in the region of £2.5million this winter. They face competition from elsewhere but are confident of bringing him to England.

Watford could see Londono as someone who would bolster their attacking department down the line.

The prospect started out at Pipe Uribe before joining Envigado in 2016.

He has since risen up through the academy ranks at Estadio Polideportivo Sur and has been a regular at various different youth levels.

Londono made his first-team debut in March 2023 against Tigres.

He has since gone on to play four more times for the senior team but his future is up in the air amid interest from Watford.

What now?

Time will tell whether the Hornets will be able to land him in the next window.

He would be an exciting coup for Tom Cleverley’s side and someone to keep an eye out for down the line.

Watford have made a decent start to this campaign and are back in action after the break against rivals Luton Town away.

Speaking after their victory over Middlesbrough, Cleverley told their website: “Middlesbrough are an excellent football team, so to go 1-0 down and show character after Wednesday, I am immensely, immensely proud of the players. They were resilient, they was disciplined, and we took our chances when we needed to.”
