TAKE A BREAK: Caitlin Clark takes her abilities to the golf course and will compete in the LPGA pro-am.

The LPGA announced Monday that the basketball superstar will play in a pro-am held during The Annika, the penultimate tournament on the tour, at Pelican Golf Club on Nov. 13.

Clark, the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year, will also be a panelist at the Women’s Leadership Summit on Nov. 12.

“I love golf so the opportunity to play in the Pro-Am for a tournament with a legend like Annika Sorenstam’s name on it is so exciting,” Clark said in a statement. “I’m looking forward to seeing all the LPGA players on the driving range, being part of the Women’s Leadership Summit, and, of course, teeing it up in the pro-am with Annika.”

Clark, the No.1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft by the Indiana Fever, finished her rookie season by breaking multiple records, including the all-time WNBA assists record.

She also led all rookies in scoring and helped the Fever make the postseason for the first time in eight years while driving WNBA records in attendance and TV ratings.

Off the field, she is brand ambassador with Gainbridge, the presenting sponsor of the LPGA event hosted by golf legend Annika Sorenstam.

“I have been following Caitlin’s career during college and now on the WNBA stage, and what she is doing to bring attention to women’s sports both on and off the court is outstanding,” Sorenstam said in a statement.

“I’m excited to meet Caitlin and for her to join us at Pelican Golf Club in November in what will be an exciting week for women’s sports.”

The professional tournament will feature a field of 120 competing for a share of the $3.25 million purse, one of the largest purses on the LPGA Tour.
