‘You’re a big Serbian…you’re going to score’ – Millwall striker Mihailo Ivanovic reveals Neil Harris’ message
Mihailo Ivanovic has described his first Millwall goal as a “crazy experience”.
The Serbian striker, 19, opened his account for the Lions in Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Derby County at The Den.
Ivanovic showed ice-cool composure to go around Rams keeper Jacob Zetterstrom.
It was the former Vojvodina frontman’s first goal in English football since his move to Millwall for a club record fee.
Asked about what head coach Neil Harris told him before he brought the teenager on, Ivanovic told Millwall TV: “First I got some instruction about set-plays and stuff. He said: ‘Come on – you’re a big Serbian, you’re going to score today’.
“It was a crazy experience. I get goosebumps now (talking about). I hope there is going to be a lot more.
“Everything about this place is amazing. I like it so much.
“It was a difficult game. We are not happy with the point – we needed to win, we had so many chances. We are going to improve that. We are focused 100 per cent on Plymouth (on Wednesday night).”
