The Detroit Lions are a top contender in the 2024-25 NFL season, but some still have reservations.According to Brad Galli of WXYZ Detroit, Campbell responded to Chris Christie’s “classless” comments about his coaching style with the Detroit Lions. The Lions advanced to 5-1 with their Week 8 victory over the Minnesota Vikings.

“The last time I was called classless, I was drinking wine out of a bottle,” the Lions’ head coach remarked, smiling.

Campbell is well-liked in the NFL world and is regarded as one of the best coaches the league has to offer at this time. It’s been a week since the Lions trounced the floundering Cowboys, but it looks that the former New Jersey governor is still upset.

What did Chris Christie actually say about Lions’ Dan Campbell?

Oct 20, 2024; Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA; Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell leaves the field after the game against the Minnesota Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium.
In Week 6, the Lions crushed the Cowboys 47-9, and Christie appears to believe Campbell was running up the score against his beloved Dallas side. During a radio interview, Chris “Mad Dog” Russo criticized Campbell for calling trick plays late in the game while the Lions were in control.

“That’s Dan Campbell.” He has no class. Never has,” Christie stated, according to Nolan Bianchi of The Detroit News (via John Simmons of Outkick). “It is fine. That’s OK. Look at Dan Campbell, that’s how he is, and what goes around comes around.”

Christie’s battle with the Cowboys is certain to continue as Jared Goff and the Lions continue to dominate the NFC. That being said, Campbell, the funny personality, can’t wait to go back to football and Detroit’s Week 8 game against the 1-5 Tennessee Titans.
