The exiled 21-year-old is seemingly not short of suitors.
Following his delisting at the Blues, Jack Carroll, a former midfielder for Carlton, has reportedly drawn attention from three AFL clubs.
Carroll was one of three players cut by the team on Tuesday, but Matt Carroll and Sam Durdin will be given the chance to train on throughout the summer in hopes of securing a career lifeline.
After Carroll, 21, participated in 15 games under coach Michael Voss this season, nine of which he played as a substitute or was substituted out of a game, the decision was made to delist him.
Despite a number of injuries to other onballers, the young midfield-forward asset showed great VFL form and had brief appearances at the senior level, but ultimately found it difficult to advance in the hierarchy.
Carroll, who is unquestionably deserving of a berth on the 2025 AFL roster, may find a new home through delisted free agency, draft windows, or as a preseason Supplemental Selection Period acquisition.
The West Australian claims that as Carroll’s skills are being sought after by WA teams West Coast and Fremantle as well as GWS, the Geraldton product may have no trouble getting a second opportunity in the top flight.

As Carroll’s contract with Carlton came to an end, the Eagles were connected to him for a significant amount of this season. As the off-season approaches, the Perth powerhouse is considering moves for unsigned local players.
Along with fellow Tiger Jack Graham, West Coast was able to sign Liam Baker from Richmond as a free agency. Carroll’s teammate Matthew Owies was also traded to the Eagles.
Tom Clurey, a defender for Port Adelaide who was just delisted, is said to have an opportunity to join the Eagles this offseason as well.
Quinton Narkle, an old teammate of his, is also being linked to a move west and may sign with Fremantle as an SSP after the draft period. The Dockers may consider a move for either Narkle or Carroll.
Following the club’s trade and free agency window losses of James Peatling (Adelaide), Isaac Cumming (Adelaide), Harry Perryman (Collingwood), and Nick Haynes (Carlton), GWS reportedly expressed interest in Carroll.
Both Peatling and Perryman’s exits have freed up slots in the Giants’ midfield selection queue, potentially allowing a kid like Carroll to see senior action in 2025.
