According to DHNet, Jack Butland wishes to return to the English Premier League after leaving Rangers this summer.
After spending just one season at Ibrox, the English goalkeeper wants to head down south, according to a story published on their website on April 11 by the Belgian news agency.
“The departure of Jack Butland, the current holder, would be one of the requirements required before the Scottish club possibly positions itself,” they stated.
“His goal is to return to the Premier League and make a name for himself there after he finishes his season with Rangers.”
This summer, will Jack Butland be leaving the Rangers?
Butland’s arrival is the best transfer of any club in Scotland over the past 12 months, and he is without a doubt the best goalkeeper in the Scottish Premier League.
However, there needs to be some recognition that the goalie could wish to play at a higher level and that he has desire to want to move on after being benched for the England national team.
If Rangers are serious about pushing Celtic for the championship on a regular basis, they will have to persuade the 31-year-old to stay at Ibrox.
The team is benefiting from their wise decision to turn down Nottingham Forest’s advances during the January transfer window as the second half of the season has shown.
A consistent opportunity to compete for trophies and European football are two things Philippe Clement can provide. However, if Butland is truly wanting to move on, a big money offer might be too good to turn down, and there might not be anything they can do about it.
