Ezra Mam’s mother has finally spoken up : disclosing a startling new detail regarding her son’s car crash scandal.

A mother involved in an Uber collision with Brisbane Broncos player Ezra Mam has come forward, sharing that her daughter suffered a broken hip in the accident.

Last Friday, Mam’s Ford Ranger collided with a Toyota carrying the woman and her four-year-old daughter in Bardon, Brisbane, while he was reportedly moving house.

Both mother and daughter were hospitalized after the traumatic event. “She has a fractured hip and severe burns from the seatbelt,” the woman told the Sydney Morning Herald.

Queensland Police conducted roadside testing at the scene, with Mam allegedly failing a drug test but testing negative for alcohol. Both the police and the NRL’s Integrity Unit are investigating the incident and awaiting results from a secondary drug test, which could take weeks.

“I remember looking up and seeing the car veer right in front of us; I knew what was coming next,” the woman recalled. She expressed frustration over the media’s focus on Mam, noting, “There hasn’t been any mention of my Uber driver or us.”

She has been contacted by Brisbane Broncos CEO Dave Donaghy but hasn’t heard from Mam himself. In a statement, Mam’s management revealed he is seeking “immediate professional treatment” in rehab and expressed his remorse for the incident, stating, “He is concerned for the other parties involved and recognizes the gravity of the situation.”

Mam was reportedly lying on the ground after the collision and has since entered a rehabilitation center.

Lawyer Tom Taylor, a prominent criminal defense solicitor, warned that Mam could face jail time in a worst-case scenario. “The nature of the charges will depend on the evidence collected in the investigation,” he explained, emphasizing that the most serious charges could stem from the alleged drug use and any injuries to the occupants of the other vehicle.

Police have claimed Mam was driving unlicensed at the time of the accident, but Taylor indicated that the potential drug charges could pose a greater threat. If injuries were indeed inflicted, Mam could face up to 14 years in prison.
