Carlton, West Coast and Richmond complete a three-club trade
CARLTON will take pick 3 to this year’s Telstra AFL Draft after a three-club trade with West Coast and Richmond was approved on Tuesday.
The move will see Liam Baker land at the Eagles along with uncontracted Blues forward Matt Owies, while the Tigers will get pick 14 in exchange for losing Baker.

The Eagles have given up pick 3, but have picked up the two players plus pick 12 in the deal.
The trade in detail

Gives up: Matt Owies, picks 12, 14 and 73
West Coast
Receives: Liam Baker, Matt Owies, picks 12 and 73
Gives up: Picks 3, 63 and 68
Richmond

Baker has signed a five-year deal at the Eagles, while Owies has penned a three-year contract.
The genesis of the deal came last Friday after Carlton traded its 2025 first- and second-round picks to Hawthorn in exchange for the Hawks’ pick 14.
The Blues have now packaged up that pick 14 with its own pick 12 and handed them to the Eagles in exchange for West Coast’s pick 3.
Having handed the No.14 pick Richmond for Baker, the Eagles will take pick 12 to the draft.
The Blues have also picked up picks 63 and 68 from West Coast in the deal, which will help them to match bids on father-son duo Ben and Lucas Camporeale on draft night.
The deal will give the Blues access to one of the best young players in the country with midfielders Jagga Smith, Sam Lalor, Harvey Langford and Finn O’Sullivan – the cousin of Carlton star Sam Walsh – among the talent available.
