Charlton Athletic’s manager is still looking to make adjustments before the transfer window closes and is enthusiastic about the potential of Kaheim Dixon.

Nathan Jones has reiterated the need for Charlton Athletic to make further adjustments to his squad before the transfer deadline next week.

The Addicks recently signed Jamaican winger Kaheim Dixon, but Jones remains focused on strengthening the team. Charlton has started the season strongly, winning their first three League One matches without conceding a goal.

Greg Docherty and Matty Godden, two summer signings, scored in today’s 2-0 win over Bolton Wanderers.

“It’s a squad game,” Jones said. “We need to rotate and have a competitive squad so that when we need to make changes, we can bring in players of equal quality. Building that squad takes time.

“The owners and board have supported me in this effort, and we still have five or six days left in the window to continue working on it.

“I’m not expecting a flurry of activity tonight, but we’ll see what happens tomorrow. We know what we want to achieve—it’s about finalizing everything.

“It’s not just about the start of the season; we need a long-term vision and process. There will be ups and downs, and we can’t overreact to a single result. We need a structured, quality approach, and the club’s leadership has been excellent in supporting that.”

Dixon, 19, has agreed to a four-year contract with Charlton Athletic after joining from Arnett Gardens.

“He’ll need to improve his physical conditioning, but not his technical skills,” said Jones. “Technically, he’s a fantastic player with unique attributes. He’s a good athlete, but considering his previous environment and training, including sports science, he’ll need some development in that area.

“We’ll see him in action soon. We need to be cautious with his integration, but we’re excited to see what he can bring to the team.”
