A super Australian goalkeeper  signed by  celtic to take joe hart place

As Joe Hart’s retirement date approaches, Celtics manager Brendan Rodgers will already have a list of players on his watch list to take his place.

Former England international Hart has been a key player in goal at Parkhead, winning five titles while guiding his colleagues and sharing his leadership and expertise.

The 36-year-old has made 140 appearances for Celtic in all, surrendering 136 goals while maintaining 60 clean sheets in all competitions [Transfermarkt].

We are currently searching for a replacement for the former Manchester City icon, and a number of players have already been mentioned, including Michael Zetterer of Werder Bremen, Ugurcan Cakir of Trabzonspor, and Ettiene Vaessen of RC Waalwijk.

On the more ambitious end of the spectrum, Liverpool’s number two Caoimhin Kelleher has also made an impression, but it is looking less and less likely that we will see the Republic of Ireland international at Parkhead.

More names will start to surface as the season draws to a close, considering how crucial it is for Celtic to sign a new first-choice goalkeeper as early in the 2024–2025 preseason as possible.

Tom Glover, the stopper for Middlesbrough, is being eyed by Celtic.

Tom Glover, the goalkeeper for Middlesbrough, has preserved five clean sheets in 20 starts this season, and Celtic are reportedly in a four-way race with Rangers, Newcastle United, and Copenhagen for his services [Transfermarkt].

Although the Australia Under-23 international is reportedly “high” on Rodgers’ list of potential replacements for Hart, Danish powerhouse Copenhagen is eager to make the 26-year-old their new first pick because of their interest in Kamil Grabara.

Despite making an impression at Riverside Stadium this season, Glover is scheduled for surgery due to a fractured finger, which forced Seny Dieng to take over as Michael Carrick’s starting center.

According to the report, Boro may be willing to sell on Glover when the transfer market opens because his contract expires in the summer of 2026.

The Sydney-born stopper has faced 48 shots on target in the Sky Bet Championship this season, recording a save percentage of 68.8%, according to FBRef.

With Hart’s probable retirement, Glover has emerged as another fascinating alternative Rodgers look to. Celtic is currently actively searching for a new goalkeeper.
