Celtic have made ‘world class’ transfer move as Rodgers

Brendan Rodgers shares his 'ideal' Celtic transfer utopia as Hoops left 'frustrated' in £8m star hunt

Pat Nevin, a former winger for Scotland and a devoted Celtic fan, has praised Brendan Rodgers for bringing Kasper Schmeichel to Glasgow this summer.

In the first five games of the Scottish league, the goalkeeper for the Danish national team has retained a spotless record. Celtic, on the other hand, have won 5-1 against Slovan Bratislava to secure maximum points and an incredible start to their European career.

The seasoned goalie has played in the semifinals of a European Championship with Denmark, won the FA Cup and Premier League with Leicester City, and gained experience in elite leagues like France and Belgium with Nice and Anderlecht, respectively. Nevin believes all of these accomplishments will be extremely helpful to Celtic this season.

“I have to say that signing Kasper Schmeichel was a stroke of genius by Celtic,” Nevin clarified. They have recently lost a superb goalie. They have now added a new goalkeeper to replace the exceptional Joe Hart.

The former winger for Chelsea continued by calling the acquisition the finest of the summer: “Kasper Schmeichel is still a world-class goalkeeper, even though his career is coming to an end,” he continued. Although he won’t have to put in as much effort in the league, he will undoubtedly see more in the Champions League.

“I think the move is excellent. He is still unquestionably a fantastic goalie, and goalkeepers are able to play for far longer than outfield players. It’s the best transfer Celtic has made this season, in my opinion.

Many Celtic supporters are pleased with Schmeichel’s influence; in a previous interview, John Hartson expressed similar views.

He said, “They’ve got a fantastic keeper in Schmeichel,” on The Go Radio Football Show. That might be Celtic’s best-ever acquisition. He is a strong contender to succeed someone like Joe Hart. They therefore have momentum.
