Celtic hit with fan ban after Dortmund firework display

Celtic lost 7-1 in Dortmund
Celtic have been fined and handed a suspended ban on selling away tickets for one European match after their fans set off fireworks during this month’s Champions League game against Borussia Dortmund.

The Scottish team endured a heavy 7-1 defeat in Germany, but may face additional sanctions due to their supporters’ conduct.

On Wednesday, UEFA’s control, ethics, and disciplinary body (CEDB) announced that Celtic had been fined €20,000 and received a suspended ban related to the incident on October 1st.

In a statement, UEFA said: “The CEDB has decided to fine Celtic €20,000 and ban them from selling tickets to away fans for one UEFA club competition match, due to the lighting of fireworks. This ban is suspended for two years from the date of the decision.”
