Hearts moved to within a point of second place by inflicting defending champions Celtic’s first SWPL defeat of the season.
Maria McAneny deflected Kayla Jardine’s shot past goalkeeper Kesley Daugherty, giving the hosts a first-half lead.
Both teams created chances in the second half, but one goal was enough to move Eva Olid’s side one point behind Glasgow City and two behind leaders Rangers. Celtic, who have a game in hand, are six points behind the top spot.
Eilidh Adams scored a hat trick as Hibernian defeated Spartans 4-0. Adams’ treble was bookended by penalties, with her second coming from open play and Michaela McAlonie scoring Hibs’ third of the day. They sit fourth, two points behind Edinburgh rivals Hearts.
Motherwell completed the current top-six line-up with a convincing 4-1 victory over Dundee United. Laura Berry opened for Well, but Amy Robertson took over. Louisa Boyes restored the hosts’ lead, and Chelsie Watson scored to make it 3-1.
In the second half, United’s Abbie Cusack was sent off for a professional foul, while Berry scored her second and Motherwell’s fourth.
Montrose led Partick Thistle at Links Park thanks to Neve Guthrie’s goal, but Carla Boyce equalized for the visitors, resulting in a 1-1 tie.
Captain Hannah Stewart and Emily Kraft scored first-half goals to put Aberdeen ahead of Queen’s Park, who were unable to recover.
Rangers rallied from a goal down to draw 1-1 at home against Glasgow City on Saturday, maintaining their lead in the division. Rangers’ Rio Hardy scored after Emily Whelan gave City the lead.
