Liverpool next manager chase sees Celtic hero touted as boss who 'suits' Anfield

Ange Postecoglou, a former Celtic manager, has been regarded as a great match for Liverpool. However, a transfer from Tottenham to Anfield has been dismissed.

During his two seasons at Celtic, the Australian has won five out of six domestic trophies, making him a beloved figure in Glasgow’s east-end. He was previously at Yokohama F. Marinos. Tottenham’s debut season in the English Premier League has been praised for its high-octane attacking style.

Liverpool is experiencing a period of transition as manager Jurgen Klopp steps down. Arne Slot of Feyenoord appears to be in line to replace him, but former Tottenham defender Alan Hutton believes Postecoglou is a perfect fit for Anfield due to his playing style. However, he does not anticipate such a transfer, as the former Parkhead manager’s Tottenham project is still in its early stages.

Hutton told Football Insider that Postecoglou’s style of play makes him a good fit for Liverpool.

“We’ve seen what he’s been able to accomplish at Tottenham in a short period of time, but I don’t believe he will go. Liverpool will have other alternatives, and Ange is content with where he is.

“He is working on something, and it is going pretty well right now. They’ve had blips, but that’s due to Tottenham’s style and approach. Postecoglou will want to improve his team, and he had an outstanding first season. I don’t see Ange leaving, to be honest.”
