Is a return for KT on the cards?

There’s been rumours of Kieran Tierney making a return to Celtic next season. It was first rumoured a few times last summer but the Scotland man made the move to Spain, joining La Liga side Real Sociedad on a season-long loan from Arsenal.

KT has been in fine form for the Basque side as they currently sit sixth in La Liga while also having reached the last 16 of the Champions League and it’s an absolutely beautiful part of the world, which the former Celtic star is thoroughly enjoying.

The Scotland left back is reportedly unlikely to sign for Real Sociedad despite his strong form because the transfer fee is too exorbitant and his enormous Arsenal salary is too much for them to pay.

Considering his enormous salary, it would be quite impossible for him to move to Celtic; nevertheless, a loan move might be possible.

Although it’s obvious that Mikel Arteta isn’t interested in Tierney, he’s still a very good player who is very familiar with our team. Brendan Rodgers is obviously an admirer of the Scottish player and is aware of his dedication to the Celtic team. Even for a short while, he would be a fantastic addition.

A long-term agreement might be achievable, but it would require major concessions from all parties. Arsenal regarding the transfer fee: a player is only worth the amount that a different team is willing to pay, and Celtic’s bid might be the only one they get. Regarding KT’s pay, he won’t receive Premier League pay at Celtic, but would he accept something similar to his friend and Celtic captain, Callum McGregor? And Celtic on a potentially record-breaking £10 million transfer price.

Even on loan, KT would be a great addition to our team since we desperately need a left back. Although his history of injuries is worrisome, his experience and presence alone would be invaluable. The matter at hand is: will it occur?
