Derby County predicted XI vs. Carlisle United
Joe Wildsmith, as usual, will line up between the sticks for Derby. He has performed admirably at the end of the season and deserves a new contract.
Warne’s return of Sonny Bradley to defense has strengthened the Rams, with Eiran Cashin and Curtis Nelson flanking the former Luton Town defender.
Warne’s three-man defence allows Kane Wilson and Louie Sibley to go down the right and left flanks. The Rams will need their width to extend Carlisle’s expected low block.
Korey Smith and Ebou Adams, like the defense, have a successful midfield partnership. With their defensive prowess and energy, the two work well together.
In recent matches, Liam Thompson has been just ahead of that duo; nevertheless, in his final game for the club, it appears appropriate to put Max Bird in attacking midfield.
The 23-year-old will complement Derby’s best scorers, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing (who scored the winning goal against Cambridge) and James Collins.
