Crowden was delisted by Fremantle at the end of the 2022 season after playing 42 AFL games since being drafted in 2017. He regained form in the WAFL, winning two best and fairest awards at East Perth and coming close to winning the 2023 grand final.

In 2024, Crowden finished third by just one vote in the Sandover Medal count, after placing fourth the previous year. Sturt is hopeful that he can continue his strong form as they look to improve on their 2024 season, where they finished second on the ladder but were eliminated in the first semi-final by Glenelg.
