Peter Bell discusses Bolton offer | AFL Trade Period Day 3

On Wednesday morning, Peter Bell spoke with AFL Trade Radio about various trade subjects, including the Shai Bolton offer.

Bell also reiterated Walls and Fremantle CEO Simon Garlick’s comments earlier this week regarding the resignations of players Andrew Brayshaw and Alex Pearce.

“Those conversations with Andy and his manager Tom Petroro are going incredibly well, and hopefully they will gain a lot of momentum in the coming weeks.

“We see a highly invested player; I can’t think of a player more committed to the Club, living in Western Australia, and helping us progress than Andy.

“We are extremely certain that the contract extension will be granted, but we want to ensure that we are doing all possible to complete the transaction.

CEO Simon Garlick joined SEN WA on the first day of the 2024 Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period to explore Freo’s prospective moves.

“Everything appears to be going OK right now.

“Alex has been an excellent leader. He’s really matured in his leadership (this year), and when he got injured late in the season, it was difficult to replace him, not just from a playing standpoint, but also in terms of on-field leadership with that incredibly outspoken and demanding captain out there.

“There has been some preliminary discussions and I’m sure that David Walls and the team will be sitting down with Alex’s representation and getting something sorted soon.”
