Jack Martin has reportedly committed to Geelong despite interest from Fremantle after being delisted by Carlton late last month.
Martin, 29, was reported to be offered a two-year deal to join the Dockers but has picked the Cats to extend his career according to Channel 7’s Mitch Cleary.
It comes after he was let go by the Blues following 54 games in five seasons at the Blues, having crossed from Gold Coast at the end of 2019.
Martin struggled with injuries in 2024, playing only three games with the last of them coming in round 22 against Hawthorn.
A Claremont-product, there was a chance Martin could return to play for the Dockers who are looking to bolster their forward line, with Richmond’ Shai Bolton their main target.
Martin, who has kicked 133 goals in 151 games across his career that started at the Suns, could be joined by Western Bulldogs midfielder Bailey Smith at the Cattery in 2025.
Smith is set to join Geelong on a six-year deal that will cost the preliminary finalists pick No.15.
The Cats have also been linked to Melbourne star Clayton Oliver who is part of trade talk for a second consecutive year despite being signed until the end of 2030 on a deal worth around $7m.
Martin can be signed as a delisted free agent as soon as Friday when the free agency period opens.
