A man has been charged with raping a woman near a park in Kent. Police were alerted after a woman in her 20s reported being assaulted by a man in the Marlborough Road area of Gillingham at 05:45 BST on Thursday. A 25-year-old man was arrested and charged with rape. He appeared in Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday and was remanded in custody to face Maidstone Crown Court next month. Kent Police are seeking witnesses who were in the area between midnight and 06:00 on Thursday and urge anyone with dashcam, CCTV, or doorbell footage to come forward.
