According to Football Insider, Leeds United is in talks to loan out attacker Luca Thomas to National League club York.
The Yorkshire club wants the 20-year-old to earn first-team experience after lighting up Premier League 2 this season, where he has six goals in five appearances.
According to Football Insider, Leeds are negotiating a loan deal for Thomas that might last until the end of December.
He signed a new one-year contract with Leeds in July, after first signing professional terms in the summer of 2022.
Although the transfer window for higher-level moves is currently closed, deals can still be reached with non-league clubs.
York City is presently third in the National League, having won seven of their first 13 games, and they are only four points behind league leaders Barnet.
Thomas has not played first-team football at the senior level, therefore this move would be the next step in his career.
Leeds United want to fast-track Luca Thomas‘ development
Thomas has been a proven goalscorer throughout his youth career at Leeds, scoring 35 goals in 62 games.
The versatile forward has also provided eight assists, having played all across the frontline throughout his career.
Even though he has been deployed on the left and right wing at times, Thomas is predominately a centre-forward.
Leeds are actively looking to get him some first-team experience now after he has impressed as Under-18 and Under-21s levels.
York City are in action today in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round away at Biggleswade before facing Ebbsfleet United in the league next weekend.
