‘He reminds me of Messi’ – Tevez and De Zerbi tell Leicester City what to expect from Buonanotte

Leicester City’s latest recruit, Facundo Buonanotte, might find himself in the thick of the action right away next Monday, potentially starting their Premier League opener against Tottenham Hotspur.

Buonanotte could be thrust into the spotlight as Leicester City kicks off their Premier League season. Despite not featuring in the team’s pre-season matches, the young Argentine might be included in the starting eleven against Tottenham. With experience from Brighton’s friendlies and a week of training with City, he should be well-prepared.

Carlos Tevez, who gave Buonanotte his senior debut at Rosario Central, has praised the teenager’s potential, comparing his style to Lionel Messi’s and noting his impressive mentality and physicality.

After a brief stint at Brighton, Buonanotte made his senior debut for Argentina, likely aided by a recommendation from Alexis Mac Allister. Mac Allister, who had spoken highly of Buonanotte, believes he has a bright future and will benefit greatly from playing alongside top players and absorbing their knowledge.

Roberto De Zerbi, who managed Buonanotte at Brighton, acknowledged his progress and improving mentality. He emphasized that Buonanotte’s best position is as an attacking midfielder, where his skills can shine. De Zerbi noted that while adapting to a new league can be challenging, Buonanotte is making significant strides.

If selected for Leicester City’s opening match, fans at King Power Stadium can expect to see a dynamic and promising talent with a lot of potential.

‘Come back a stronger, better player’

There does not appear to be much chance of City signing Buonanotte on a permanent deal next summer, with Brighton foreseeing a future for him at the Amex. What they want is for him to get game-time and improve.

The new Seagulls boss Fabian Hurzeler said: “I hope first of all that he will play [for Leicester]. If you play every game, you will develop. He’s still a player for Brighton so we will watch his development.
