‘Don’t worry guys, I’ll be good for Saturday’ – Millwall winger thinks he’ll be fit for Swansea clash

MILLWALL winger Romain Esse told Millwall TV that he thinks he’ll be fit to play against Swansea City on Saturday, after coming off injured during the Lions’ 1-0 win against Plymouth Argyle last night.

Esse came off in the 84th minute with what looked like a serious leg injury, but later revealed it was just a cramp.

“Don’t worry guys, I’ll be good for Saturday,” Esse said. “I’m feeling good, strong and healthy. I think I’ll be good. We’ve got another good game Saturday, and I’m looking forward to another three points.”

The nineteen-year-old had another standout performance against Plymouth, scoring the game’s only goal and winning player of the match. Esse created the goal by dispossessing Pilgrims midfielder Bali Mumba, then playing a one-two with George Honeyman before finishing well from near the penalty spot.

Esse was pleased with how he created the goal.

“I’m happy because recently one of the things I’ve been having to work on is the defensive side,” Esse said.

“It’s good that the goal started from me and ended with me. Obviously G [George] did a lot of the hard work pulling the ball back to me and finding me accurately, then I did the rest.”

Millwall boss Neil Harris was full of praise for Esse.

“Romain showed tonight that moment of quality in the final third,” Harris said.
