Millwall boss Neil Harris is hoping a number of players will be returning to action shortly after the international break – with Middlesbrough loanee Josh Coburn being one.

Coburn joined the London club on loan for the season on transfer deadline day and wasted little time in making a positive impression at the Den. He scored on his debut to help Millwall to their first victory of the season of Sheffield Wednesday, with Harris hailing his importance.

Harris told South London Press: “We’re hoping that Adam Mayor is going to be the closest. Whether he’s back for the first week for Derby, Plymouth and Stoke, I’m not sure, but he won’t be far behind that. Adam will be first and then we’re looking at a spate of lads coming back, with Tom [Bradshaw], Josh, Shuan [Hutchinson] and Billy [Mitchell]. They shouldn’t be too far behind, particularly with the few weeks during the international break.”

Coburn will be hoping he can hit the ground running again when he is able to return to action. A big factor behind Boro sanctioning the loan move was allowing the young striker an opportunity to play regular Championship games, with building his body’s injury resistance key after last season.

Speaking before his injury about his loan hopes, Coburn had told South London Press: “After speaking to the gaffer I knew it was a really good one to come to. It was the right move for me. The way they play suits me down to the ground.

“I’ve set my own little targets but it is about taking each game as it comes, trying to get as many goals as I can. I don’t like to set too many targets because if you get there then you have got to keep going. I prefer to try and score in the next game and help the team. It’s not all about just scoring in these kinds of sides – it’s also about holding the ball up, being aggressive and winning fouls. That will help us.”
