Millwall ‘agree’ deal despite Brendan Rodgers appeal as Leeds United ‘prepare bid’

The Championship season is now underway, and Carabao Cup action has taken centre stage for the time being. Millwall and QPR lost their Championship curtain-raisers, but they will both have added motivation to bounce back this weekend.

In the meantime, both London clubs and their rivals will be looking to add to their squads before the end of the summer window, which is fast-approaching. In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest news surrounding the Championship clubs.

Leeds battling for Rowe

Leeds United are said to be lining up a bid to land Norwich City star Jonathan Rowe as they look to replace Crysencio Summerville. Rowe was linked with the Whites a few weeks ago, but TeamTalk now say Leeds are readying an offer.

Marseille are being tipped to rival Leeds to a deal, though, with reports claiming the French club have already had a bid worth around £10.3million rejected. It’s reported the Canaries are looking for an offer worth around £15million, which would be a pricey deal for a Championship club, but Leeds do have money after the sales of Summerville and Archie Gray.

Kelly to Millwall

Millwall are said to have agreed a pre-contract agreement with highly rated Celtic prospect Daniel Kelly. The South London Press report that the Lions have been watching Kelly over the last year and they have now pulled the trigger to agree a pre-contract agreement that will start at the start of 2025.

Brendan Rodgers appealed to Kelly to stay put recently, saying: “I like Daniel but he has a lot of work to do and I feel that for him and the family, this is a great place for him to be able to do that. You’ve got a manager who sees a talent there, who sees the physicality he has and areas he needs to brush up.
