Football Insider reports that several clubs, including Millwall, are interested in the 24-year-old defender. Bushiri initially joined Hibernian on loan from Norwich City in January 2022, and then made the move permanent that summer. Over three seasons with Hibernian, he has contributed to finishes of fifth and eighth in the Scottish Premiership.

Millwall in transfer race for Hibernian defender Rocky Bushiri
According to the latest update, Millwall has shown interest in signing Bushiri before the transfer window closes at the end of August. However, they face competition from other clubs, including Belgian team Standard Liege, which is also monitoring the defender with the aim of bringing him back to his home country.
Bushiri’s contract with Hibernian has less than a year remaining, which could make this the last opportunity for the club to sell him. Given that he is one of their highest earners, Hibernian might be open to letting him go for around £250,000.
So far this season, Bushiri has been an unused substitute in Hibernian’s two league matches, both of which ended in losses to St Mirren and Celtic, placing the team 11th in the Scottish Premiership. Similarly, Millwall has lost their first two league games of the season to Watford and Bristol City, leaving them 22nd in the Championship standings.
Millwall has made four senior signings this summer, bringing in Macaulay Langstaff, Lukas Jensen, Liam Roberts, and Japhet Tanganga on permanent deals.
Rocky Bushiri could be a useful addition for Millwall in defence
Signing the Hibernian defender could be a valuable move for Millwall before the transfer window closes next week. With a tough start to the season and having conceded seven goals in two Championship games, Millwall clearly needs to bolster their defense. Bringing in a centre-back like Bushiri could address this issue and strengthen their squad significantly if they manage to finalize the deal.
Considering the suggested asking price, the deal for Bushiri appears to be quite affordable for Millwall and could be a worthwhile opportunity to pursue. Given his regular appearances in the Scottish Premiership with Hibernian, there is reason to believe the 24-year-old could perform well at the Championship level as well. With these factors in mind, it seems sensible for Millwall to seriously consider this move before the transfer window closes.
